Canyon Creek Elementary has several class sets of laptop computers and tablets that are stored in mobile carts and shared between classrooms. Students use MacBooks, Chromebooks, and iPads for research and learning in math, science, social studies, and language arts, as well as digital citizenship and computer skills.

Remember these rules when on the Internet: 

  • If you have any questions or concerns about a website please talk to a teacher or parent. 
  • Do not give out any personal information.
  • Do not send or receive any emails.
  • Do not sign up for any website clubs at school.
  • Do not visit inappropriate sites.

 Lightbot - Hour of Code - LightBot is all ages friendly designed for first-time coders. It's been played by over 20 million kids and has been used by tens of thousands of teachers worldwide.  It gives students exposure to Sequencing, Overloading, Procedures, Recursive Loops, and Conditionals.

 Star Wars - A Code Game - Students use Blockly, a visual programming language where you drag and drop blocks to write code. Most code is typed, but Blockly is visual. Each blocks corresponds to a line of "real" code. Students begin by programming BB-8 to walk to collect all of the scrap parts.
