Additional Summer Learning

Summer provides an opportunity for students to grow their knowledge in unique ways. Below are resources available to Northshore School District students to support ongoing learning throughout the summer.

i-Ready Access

Students who will be entering 1st through 9th grade in the 2022-23 school year have access to their i-Ready accounts until July 30th. i-Ready is intended to be a supplemental resource, not a replacement for core curriculum. At a maximum, students should access i-Ready 40 minutes per week. If a student gets locked out of their i-Ready account after completing a lesson, it indicates a need for instruction. Designated staff at each elementary and middle school are monitoring student i-Ready accounts and will unlock student accounts weekly. To access i-Ready, students should first log into their Clever account by visiting my.nsd.org and then select i-Ready.

Food Services

P-EBT is Back for Summer 2023

This summer, your child may be eligible to receive food assistance through the Summer P-EBT (Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer) program supported by USDA. P-EBT provides families with funds to make up for the cost of meals while school buildings are closed. This benefit is for Washington children in grades K-12 who receive free or reduced-price school meals. These benefits will be on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which is used like a debit card to buy groceries. Learn more by visiting the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) website. Families can also sign up for text alerts to receive notifications or chat with DSHS support to ask questions.
Northshore did not qualify to offer a summer meals site during 2023, so the Summer P-EBT program provides our families with access to meal support. Families looking for summer meal sites hosted in other parts of the community can visit the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Site Finder to search for locations.
